The boys

Taking a bus ride together

Soren: This is Soren's thing lately. He is constantly biting his entire lower lip, sucking it in rhythmically. It's how he falls asleep, too. William had his thumb, Burke has his blanket, Soren has his lip. Soren is really getting into rough-housing with Don and his brothers on the bed at night before bedtime. Soren's still a little wary, but he also doesn't want to miss out on the fun either, so he climbs up on the bed. At 16 months, he still is a cuddler. He says about 10 words well and is adorable when he "fake talks."

Burke: This is pretty typical of Burke. A huge smile, having fun, and food in his hand. When people offer him food, he invariably takes as much as his hands can hold. Not one or two crackers...half a sleeve of crackers. I think the cutest things he says lately are when he asks questions like, "We have to go shopping today, do we?" or "We're eating lunch, are we?" Burke can't walk past a dandelion without picking it and making sure I put it in my hair. Another of my favorite Burkisms is how he calls out to people, "Hey, everyguys!" instead of saying everybody.

William: William is into chivalry lately. He is always telling me that boys are supposed to save girls. If the girls are lost, the boys save them. If there's bad guys, the boys shoot the bad guys and save the girls. He loves taking care of Soren. We went to an indoor gym play place, and even though Will's friends were there, Will took Soren around for about an hour. If Soren ever tried to come back to me, William urged and convinced Soren to follow him instead. He loved it. His 5th birthday is coming up in June. It's going to be a big one. Will tells us when he turns 5, he will stop being scared of dogs, catch lizards, save girls and go to school.

I just looked at these pictures again and laughed when I looked at Soren "on the train"....what a pose and that little bit of belly hangin' out just did me in.

what a great post!! I love all those little details about your boys. TOO cute about Will and saving girls - he'd make a good match for Grace and her needing a boy. I think she should look for one just like Will! :) I can tell you have a lot of fun being a mom. It's always a happy thing for me to read your blog. It makes me want to be better!
