So I read about a grocery store here that was pretty close to what we have back home, so I checked it out yesterday, and my life got 10x better. It was like a mini-superWal-mart. They had toys, clothes (baby and grownup), bath towels, makeup, hair stuff, house decorations, Christmas decorations and of course, food. Lunch meat, bread, chips, cookies, tortillas even frozen french fries. Oh, and LOTS of kinds of cheese and fish. I think I'm gonna like it here. (Name it claim it...remember the movie Annie?)
There was a couple of things that blew me away about the store, though. I got out of the car and went to where the carts were. I started pulling and tugging and the thing was not coming loose from the other cart. Then I noticed they were all attached to eachother by some kind of chain, which I tried to get off. This guy came and showed me that you had to put MONEY in to use the cart. I couldn't believe it. Then when I get to the register there are some plastic store bags underneath the conveyer belt. I pick up a few to use to pack my groceries in, and they have a bar code on them. You have to pay to use the plastic bags. I guess I'll be reusing those bags or something. How can a store get away with charging to use the cart and for bags to bring the groceries you just bought home? Crazy. But atleast I know I'm going to be able to cook!
So, sadly we only have one picture so far of the boys in Denmark, and it's on the bed in the hotel room the day we got here. We kept calling the front desk to get a crib sent up, but finally we all just crashed on the one bed together. It would have been quite the shot to get all four of us. I promise to take some pictures of actual Denmark soon so you can all see how charming this city is!

I'll post a picture of the boys in Halloween costumes. For those of you that don't know, Don's work puts on a BIG show for Halloween. Everyone dresses up and the whole office building decorates in some theme. Don's department was Disneyland, and they did different themes within that. Toy Story, Indiana Jones Ride, Star Tours...I can't remember what else. Don's team was part of Star Tours, so they decorated part of it like the ride, and then they made a Cantina and served drinks. So Don was Obi Wan and had a great costume. Omniture also lets all the employee's families come and trick or treat at the office. WE didn't have to do any trick or treating after that, William's bag was so full. It was a great day.

Yeah for superwalmart's (or whatever yours is called). Regarding the bags and carts, it sounds exactly like Canada (although you get your quarter back when you return the cart and paying for bags usually meant lower prices on food). We miss you guys-Keep blogging!
PS. I just wrote this a minute ago, but I think I deleted it by accident-sorry if it shows up twice!
AMY! HOLY COW! I'm so glad I found your blog! It's been forever! You have beautiful children! Please let me what you guys are up to these days!
Ummm...you have to pay for your carts and your bags??!! Interesting. But, I guess there's lots that's going to be "interesting" in the coming months as you adjust. I'm glad you like fish. I hate fish. It's good that you like it since pretty much everywhere outside of the US is big on fish. :) Cute sleeping boys! I'm sorry that your hotel wouldn't bring you a crib, but it's good that your boys were tired enough to sleep anyway. Have you guys found a place to live yet? Was I wrong in thinking you were going to England?
Can't wait to hear about more adventures! I absolutely cannot believe they leave kids sleeping outside church. Unfathomable!!
AMY!! Denmark! I had no idea! I saw your comment at Cicily's blog, and did some hopping. Wow! How exciting. Things over there are definately different. Shawn, I and the kids spent 16 days in a little town called Annecy, France. It was an eye opener, but also a fun experience. How long are you guys going to be living out there? I am so glad I "found" you. Blogs are a fun and nice way to be able to stay in contact with old friends. Your boys are just too cute!
