Norway in a Nutshell

When my parents came to visit us in Denmark, they stayed home with our older two boys and we took the baby with us on a tour of the Norwegian fjords. Some of the prettiest landscape we've ever seen. After we all got home from Germany, my parents went on the same tour with their friends, George and Kathryn, who also came to visit.

The Norwegian fjord tour was our last sightseeing vacation for a bit, so we enjoyed it to the fullest! Here are some pics.

We took an express train from Oslo to Myrdal, then got on a local train that descended down to the village of Flam. It was a beautiful train ride with hundreds of waterfalls and some very charming little villages along the river.
When we got to Flam, where we stayed overnight, we took a hike up to a waterfall. The strange looking creatures stared at us as we walked by. We still don't know exactly what they are.
The view of Flam from the top of our waterfall hike.
The following pictures were taken on our actual two hour fjord cruise that took us through three fjords. It was amazing to see how these enormous mountains just went straight down into the water...no beach. We went to Norway before the tourist season really hits, which is in June. So it was a little cool, but way worth it, because they said the tour boat is usually jam packed. On our tour, there was plenty of room to walk around and get different viewpoints of the fjords.
One of the hundreds of waterfalls we saw on the cruise.
I love seeing how small this building looks next to it's backdrop.

We've loved all of our traveling and all of the places we have gotten to see, but I must say I am looking forward to some calmer weeks ahead of me.
