Other Stuff

William was sitting on my lap a few weeks ago and I noticed some tiny brown things in his hair. We went to the doctor....my boys and I had lice! I can honestly say lice is one thing I never imagined we would have. I felt disgusting. But then the doctor told me it is not uncommon in Australia. I was embarrassed to tell my friends that we had it, but when I did, one told me their kids had had it two weeks ago, and another friend had just chopped her daughter's hair because of lice. So I felt less embarrassed. Anyway, we did the whole lice shampoo treatment, and we are back to new.

Soren in his shower cap during the shampoo treatment.

My most responsible boy...William...wrote with pen all over our couch! He wrote our initials...D, A, W, B, and S. I looked online for a solution and using Windex, it came out like a dream.

How hard would you work for a handful of Cheerios?

That's gross. Peyton's teacher just called me last week to tell me to check her because someone in her class had it and I was glad she didn't. I remember having it a few times growing up. Not fun. I want to come visit. We were planning on coming for our 10 year (2 1/2 more years) but I want to come now that you guys are there. Any ideas how long you'll stay there?

Don, Amy, William, Burke and Soren,

Happy New Year! Thanks for the wonderful letter William both Grandma and I enjoyed it very much. The boomerang is sensational and has been placed on our shelves where we show-off for our friends and visitors. It was wonderful to Skype with you. Our love for you all is abundant. We think of you everyday and include you and your intentions in our prayers.

It's so good to see what you guys have been up to (even if it does involve nasty little scalp-eating bugs). I loved to video of Soren trying to eat the Cheerios. What a cutie!

I loved catching up on your blog! What a merry Christmas and SUPER fun trip alone! That looks perfect. Happy birthday to Don. and I'm so glad that the lice are gone for good. What a weird thing that it's more common there! In some ways, I bet it was nice to have everyone have it at once instead of trying to keep it contained. sometimes that's the worst part of any sickness! :)

Oh lice, it's the infliction that comes with so much embarrassment. I remember having it in elementary school and being mortified knowing the whole class would have to be informed of my contamination. I love that Soren is just chilling there with his little cap on, so cute.
