Rite of Passage

We went to the hospital last night. I wish I could say that we went because our baby was on his way, but it was for William. We have had our first trip to the ER as parents. We went over to our neighbor's house last night for dinner. The boys have no boundaries on food there. Even Burke knows where their candy drawer is and will go get into it all by himself. We let the boys be spoiled when we spend evenings there. After soda, candy, popcorn and ice cream the boys were definitely wired and around 11 pm, Will and a friend were jumping on the couch and Will of course ended up hitting the edge of the coffee table. What a sight to walk into--blood streaming down my child's face! It was awful. We could tell it wasn't too bad, though. The first thing Will said in between tears was, "That was scary!" It was so sad. We took him to the ER which was empty, thank goodness, and 10 mintues later we were out of there with that human super glue on his cut. Here is what he looks like the day after.

He says it doesn't hurt at all, and Don keeps telling him how cool his scar is.

Moral of the story--too much sugar, 11 pm at night, and kids jumping on the couch is not a good combination.
